Subcision filling for acne outcomes or for orange peel or dimpling from cellulite

Subcision filling for acne or cellulite dimpling

This is a minimally invasive, subcutaneous, incisionless surgical technique particularly indicated in the treatment of acne scars and some forms of cellulite to treat the ” orange peel ” or dimpling defect.

The ” subcision” derives from the English ” scarless incision” or a section or incision without leaving a scar because it is done with a needle with a punctiform diameter.

How does subcision take place?
Dr. Tommaso Savoia is able to detach scar adhesions with only the help of a special needle (called a nokor or Brazilian needle) or atraumatic cannulas by going under the skin with forward and backward oscillating and radial movements to detach adhesions or create micro tunnels. The subcutaneous fibrous bridles are released, allowing the skin to stretch and lift, reducing the inward pull of scar retraction and the “orange peel” appearance from cellulite.

The procedure involves an immediately following phase of filling and lifting the depressed scar by injecting a redensifying filler based on hyaluronic acid and vitamins( face), , regenerative such as diluted calcium hydroxyapatite( gluteal dimpling) or by micro fat transfer.

In the aesthetic medicine technique involving the use of hyaluronic acid or hydroxyapatite takes 20 to 40 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis, with the application of local anesthesia. In the case of using fat transfer, which involves fat harvesting and may be associated with BBL, more preparation is required, as for an outpatient surgical procedure.

Return to social is almost immediate except for some possible bruising and minor irregularities due to the trauma inherent in the treatment. It is absolutely forbidden to expose the affected part to the sun for this period. Bruising is absolutely physiological, and once the hematomas are absorbed, results can be appreciated but not before 2 months.

Treatment protocols may involve the combination of medium-deep peeling techniques, biorevitalizations and hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and fractional CO2 laser.

t depends, of course, from case to case, and it must be the doctor’s guidance in order to achieve the best possible result.

The result of the treatment is partially permanent in the relative part due to the disconnection and subsequent repair that stimulates collagen formation. It is, however, repeatable even during periods with sun exposure.
